Rawa Singkil is a peat swamp forest ecosystem are located in Aceh Singkil Regency, Peat swamp ecosystem has an important function in protecting and balancing water systems, carbon stocks and biodiversity conservation. However, information on the characteristics of the waters of this ecosystem is still not widely known, especially in the area of utilization that is influenced by community activities. Singkil swamp area located in west coast of Aceh Province where was influenced by large earthquake on 26 December 2005. The earthquakes triggered large tsunami, called Indian Ocean tsunami and subsequently caused land subsidence of about 1.0m to 2.0m along Singkil coast, resulting in the devastation of most of the inter-tidal vegetation communities due to the environmental changed.
