Berastagi (Dutch: Brastagi), is a town and district of Karo Regency situated on a crossroads on the main route linking the Karo highlands of Northern Sumatra to the coastal city of Medan. Berastagi town is located around 66 km (41 mi) south of Medan and about 1,300 m (4,265 ft) above sea level. The village rose to significance when Dutch settlers in Sumatra opened a boarding school there in the 1920s.

Located in the Barisan Mountains area, the mean annual temperature of the district is 18 °C (64 °F). During the day the temperature rises over 25 °C (77 °F) but at night to early morning it could drop to as low as 12 to 16 °C (54 to 61 °F), it could also reach 9 °C (48 °F) during the rainy season. The weather can be fair and sunny during the day but may become foggy around dusk to night.

The main economic activities in Berastagi centers on the colorful fruit and vegetable market, as well as tourism. Berastagi is famous for its passion fruit. The main attractions of the town are the two active volcanoes; Mount Sibayak, with its hot springs, and Mount Sinabung. Each mountain can be climbed in one day, but a guide is needed.

The town is also a stop on the way to Lake Toba. The dominant ethnic and linguistic group is Karo Batak. Berastagi is 11 km (6.8 mi) from the capital of the Karo Regency in Kabanjahe. An airport bus from Kabanjahe directly to the new Kuala Namu International Airport v.v. is available.

Day 1. 

Meet and great with our driver at Kuala Namo International Aiport in Medan. Than further road to Berastagi arround 4 hours driving, during the way stop for food and petrol. Check in hotel free program. 

Day 2. 

At 5am, our local guide will pick up you from the hotel, further trekking to Mount Sibayak is a stratovolcano overlooking the town of Berastagi in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Although its last eruption in 1881, geothermal activity in the form of steam vents and hot springs remains high on and around the volcano. The vents produce crystalline sulfur, which was mined on a small scale in the past. Seepage of sulfurous gases has also caused acidic discolouration of the small crater lake. Lunch at 12.30. after having luanch continue trip to one of tallest Waterfall in Indonesia, it has 120 meter high and it located in Tongging Village, 45 Kilometers from Berastagi at the Northern end of Lake Toba. 

Day 3. 

After finish breakfast, packing your bags for preparing check out hotel. At 10am transfer out from the hotel further road to Kuala Namo International Airport in Medan. End of the Tour, See you in the next trip.
